Sophie Finnane

Associate Artistic Producer

Sophie Alize Finnane has been associated with TRS since 2004, since deciding they were one of the coolest companies in town!

Sophie completed a Bachelor of Arts (Media Production) at University of Western Sydney in 2003 with a double major in Media Production / Cinema History, and History Politics and Philosophy.

Sophie always knew she wanted to be a producer, but she wasn't sure in what field. So she worked in them all, TV, film, theatre and corporate media production, her passion proving to be theatre.

Sophie's first encounters working in association with TRS came whilst working as Producer for Paddington Arts Club Inc (PACI). It was then that she was struck by TRS's passion for new Australian work and dedication to helping new young artists get their work on stage.

Sophie's credits with Paddington Arts Club Inc include: 'Forest Blue', 'Megan Moystn-Brown', 'Shiny White Diamonds' and 'And At That Moment Everything Changed'.

Sophie went on to work for TRS as Production Manager on 'Thrall' and 'Constance Drinkwater and the Final Days of Sommerset', before embarking on world wide travels that would leave her so in debt that she would not be able to return to the high paying world of theatre for some years!

When Sophie was head hunted by Leland Kean to work full time as Producer for TRS' new venue, she thought all her Christmas's had come at once! Her first project was producing along side Jen Hamilton on the enormously successful The Chronic Ills of Robert Zimmerman AKA Bob Dylan (A Lie) A Theatrical Talking Blues and Glissendorf.

Sophie is now very proud to be able to call herself a true rock surfer! She is very excited about TRS upcoming ventures and thinks the rest of Sydney should be too!
