Jamie is passionate about participating in independent Australian theatre, and in 2005 he studied theatre the University of New England. After completing his studies he obtained the Diploma of Film & Media in 2009. He is fanatical about lighting for the stage and screen and, in 2008 he started his own production company specialising in the sound and lighting needs for theatres, art groups and short films in the New England Tablelands. While operating his production company he has worked for The University Of New England, University of New England Partnerships, New England Conservatorium Of Music, The Armidale Playhouse, The Armidale Women’s Comedy Group, Uralla Arts and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival RoadShow Tour in Armidale.

In 2009 Jamie made the move to Sydney to continue expanding his skill set and building his career. The experience he gained through his production company has enabled him to work on a range of projects from setting up for Pink, Beyonce and the Black Eyed Peas to tech managing The Old Fitzroy and Newtown Theatres. Jamie strives to provide the best technical support for upcoming independent Australian theatre.

He has covered a diverse set of roles for film and media from lighting director, stage technician, Gaffer and Best Boy. He has worked on a range of projects both local and national. These roles include: film projects for Sydney City Gym Commercial, The Armidale Council Underage Drinking Campaign, The Dixon Library Podcasts and short film work with renowned cinematographer John Biggins. His stage experience is not limited to the productions of Short and Sweet 2010, The Fastest Clock In The Universe and he is the lighting designer for the upcoming production of Hybrid Dream at the PACT Theatre in August.

Jamie’s innate ability to organise the technical demands of live production and stage has lead him to manage and design the lighting for Short and Sweet play festival in Sydney in 2011.

His future goal is to continue providing the technical support for upcoming artists and companies and, expand his competence of technical direction in Australian stage shows moving into 2011.

Jamie’s ambition is to one day design for the Sydney Theatre Company and, possibly the next Wicked. In his down time he likes to attempting to be the next Tom Stoppard and his favourite play is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.
