The Secret of The Seven Marbles
By Nadine Helmi
A play for children aged 5 -12 years
September 26 – October 8th 2011
Packed with action, mystery and a good dose of humour, this play tells a cracking good story about the thrill of uncovering the secrets of the past. Ideally suited to 5 – 12 year olds it makes a great show for the whole family.
It’s 1840 in Old Sydney Town and rats and flees rack the colony, home to Irish Migrant girl Molly, her friend, the ship’s boy, Tom and deaf Old Mac, an ex-convict. They struggle to make ends meet when one day a mysterious Spanish sailor gives Molly a bag of magic marbles in exchange for the precious family roast. But the gift gets lost…
In modern Sydney Ella and Max find out about the secret, while Mum, who works as an archaeologist, is digging up the ruins of Molly’s old house in The Rocks. Will she find the marbles and will Ella and Max unleash their magical power?
Back by popular demand after a sell-out season at the Seymour Centre, we invite young audiences to once again come on a journey to discover… The Secret of the Seven Marbles.
Presented with the assistance of the Historic Houses Trust and the Museum of Sydney.
