Weaving together experiences from Black Saturday. This new work, written and performed by Ali Kennedy-Scott, follows the lives of 5 survivors, including the mother of an arsonist. It charts their journeys from before the fire’s arrival, to their return home and the rebuilding of their lives.

An uplifting show, with unexpected humour and tremendous tenderness, based on real interviews with survivors, journalists and psychologists. Directed by Adrian Barnes, the play honours the everyday heroes who fought Australia’s greatest natural disaster. The Day the Sky Turned Black is a tribute to the strength, generosity, bravery and the Australian fighting spirit.
