SYDNEY WRITERS’ FESTIVAL
Australia’s finest literary celebration, Sydney Writers’ Festival, join forces with new-writing theatre company Rock Surfers for a week of events that take words off the page and onto the stage, featuring shows, interviews, storytelling, poetry and more.
All Lost in the Supermarket
Rock Surfers AD Phil Spencer, performer Claire Lovering (River) and singer/songwriter Richard Cuthbert (Cuthbert and the Nightwalkers) present the world premiere of All Lost in the Supermarket, a darkly comic storytelling show with songs.
All Lost in the Supermarket is a heartfelt tale about the politics of language, the horrors of shopping and how a man once lost 46 minutes of his life (and mind) in the Bondi Westfield car park.
‘Spencer’s charm and winning on-stage charisma is simply delightful’ – The Brag

True Crime: Morality, Money, Entertainment and the Truth
The Nib Waverley Library Award for Literature recognises excellence in literary research. As The Nib opens for entries, we invite top writers to step out from the shadows and share insights into the true crime genre. When the lives of real people will be impacted, striking the balance between morality, money, entertainment and the truth becomes critical. How do you fairly portray the motives of a murderer? Caroline Overington, Charles Waterstreet, Virgina Peters and Paul B. Kidd speak to Suzanne Leal about what our thirst for true crime reveals about us all.

Join us for a very special Sydney Writers’ Festival edition of Cut & Paste.
