FUTURE SENIOR/FORMER YOUTH PARTICIPANT CALL-OUT

Thank you for your interest. We now have all the participants necessary for this stage of the project. Keep your eye out on our website or sign up to our enews for further opportunities to be involved in the future.

Are you aged between 12 – 25 years old? Or are you aged 60 and over? Do you fancy being involved in the making of a new theatre show?

Rock Surfers are making a brand new theatre show and we want you to be part of it. We believe in the power of storytelling, and that sharing personal stories can better help us understand one another. So, with the help of young people and seniors, we are creating a brand new verbatim theatre show to be performed as part of Seniors Week in March 2015, called Future Senior/Former Youth.

What’s the idea?
Once you let us know you’re interested (as outlined below), we will arrange to meet you for a chat, ask you some questions, share some stories and record some of your words for potential use in the play.

What’s it about?
This is where you come in! The content of the show will be based on the material and stories we compile through the interview process with youth and seniors. We’re interested in your personal experience within your community.

What’s the catch?
As we are creating a verbatim theatre piece, select excerpts will be taken from the interview transcripts to form the performance text. This means the stories you share with us may end up on stage being spoken by an actor, so you need to be comfortable with this outcome.

How long will it take?
The chat can be as long or short as you’d like, but as a guide, we think it will take roughly an hour or so. We are happy to come to you, or meet you at your local library or favourite café.

When will we meet?
We’ll be conducting interviews through February 2015, and are happy to book a time that suits you.

I want in! What do I do now?
