Rock Surfers Theatre Company want to push culture forward.
For this reason, we’re launching BONDI INDIE, a curated season of independent works that will run alongside our 2016 mainstage season.

Submissions are now open for BONDI INDIE 2016. Applications close 6 July 2015.

Rock Surfers are committed to backing the next generation of artists.

Since 1997, we’ve jumpstarted the careers of many leading Australian theatremakers, including Toby Schmitz, Kate Mulvany, Ewen Leslie, Suzie Miller, Tim Minchin, Sarah Goodes, Nick Coyle and Sarah Snook. We strive to build the best new contemporary theatre and performance practice, and aim to create definition around theatre in a rapidly changing world, articulating our contemporary experience.

Bondi Indie will be our curated program of independent works, which will run alongside our mainstage season.

We’re on the hunt for five knockout contemporary works which are production-ready for 2016. And we’re keen to support a broad portfolio of programming. Brand spanking new Australian work will sit in conversation with killer international storytelling. We want to know all about theatre for young people. Alternative comedian? Great. Physical theatremaker? Gold. Community engaged work? Big tick, come sit by us. As long as your work champions innovation, courage and currency, we want to talk. Try us.
