November Light and Sound Workshops
In the month of November, Tamarama Rock Surfers Theatre Company are teaming up with the cast and crew of the hit Australian show ‘Bondi Dreaming’ to deliver a unique opportunity for eager young lighting and sound production artists.
The workshops will give young people the opportunity to develop skills in lighting and sound production whilst also gaining an important insight and hands-on experience during the ‘bump-in’ of a professional show.
The workshop program will be hosted over three weeks in which participants will experience the tension and pressure of setting up a play the night before opening night! See the play and speak with the cast and crew. Then direct, design and perform your own version of ‘Bondi Dreaming’ with directing and design expert Jemma Gurney.

Tamarama Rock Surfers has been at the forefront of independent, home grown and first run theatre in Sydney since 1997. We pride ourselves on supporting the next crop of talented, hungry emerging theatre practitioners.
In becoming the resident theatre company of The Bondi Pavilion Theatre, The Rock Surfers have begun to hold youth workshops programs to encourage a new generation of performers, playwrights and stage technicians into the theatre.
It is the long term goal for Tamarama Rock Surfers Theatre Company to provide further vocational training for workshop participants with the aim of facilitating casual employment for young artists from the Eastern Suburbs.
There is always a need for talented technical assistants in the dozens of shows TRS is involved in each year. It is our hope that the young people involved in these workshops will have the ability to undertake further vocational training and to be eventually employed to assist on professional productions.
